Silent Witnesses

Solo exhibition at the Centre for China in the World Gallery at the Australian National University in 2017, developed by ANU Heritage, to highlight one of many ways in which the heritage values of a place can be interpreted, explored and retained. The artworks in this exhibition reflect upon the dichotomy between the profound nature of the research undertaken at the John Curtin School of Medical Research at the ANU, and the mundane nature of everyday objects that were silent witnesses to these considerable events. Martin Rowney has reimagined these objects within his artworks to tell the stories of their observations.
